微弱的光線中，身體緩慢移動，像是爆發自黑暗的幽谷，然後，男與女，肢體與幽魂開始扭繞痴纏。在森林中心地帶，這場古老的古體人類儀式開始進行場景排練，但一切究竟是一場夢境？還是夢魘？他們是人？是鬼？還是來自觀者的意識投射？銀幕上，赤裸的身體展開反覆的演練，前進與後退，宰制與服從，儀式化 的行進成為另一種語言，訴說著以恐懼、性慾與獸性織就的故事，在寂靜中逼向最尖銳的神經與官能邊界。

一向以前衛影像挑戰電影語言的法國名導菲利普貢迪厄，這次以肢體為音符，儀式為曲調，與知名舞者海倫羅謝托合作，蒼白、倉惶、焦慮、恐懼的動作，在瘖幽晦暗的林野中起舞，譜寫出一曲詭譎怪異卻又觸動靈魂底層的人體古調。

導演的話―
這部電影的創作，來自我對情感與極度焦慮的剖析，一切也在敘述中鋪陳開展。藉由獨特的敘述方式，影片企圖驅使觀眾以自己內在深層的恐懼和慾望、以及自我的情感脈絡中，檢測這個「白色癲癇」的世界。

The f igure s haunt ing the film exist in a strange invasive reality. They are subjected to subterranean forces linking them between each other. Their actions respond to an injunction
we cannot understand, to which we have no access, but to which we anticipate the imperious Sovereignty. In the heart of the forest an ancient archaic humanity rehearses scenes taken from a ceremony. It is a dream, or a nightmare. The story is woven with fear, sexuality and an animalism that mutes edgy nerves.

菲利普貢迪厄 Philippe Grandrieux ―

1954年生於法國聖埃蒂安。畢業於比利時國立電影學院，作品風格實驗多變，創作領域涵蓋劇情片、實驗片、錄像及裝置藝術等。目前任教於巴黎國家高等視聽創作學院以及巴黎國家高等美術學院，以及劍橋、哈佛大學視覺及環境研究系的客座講師。2008年的作品《湖》曾於液態影展中放映，備受好評，《白色癲癇》、《也許是因為美的決心》為其近年新作。

Was born in Saint-Étienne in France. His work covers several areas of kinetic visual arts: feature film, experimental television, video art, documentary and museum and gallery installation. Grandrieux's first two full-feature films, "Sombre" and "A New Life" which won an award at the Locarno Film Festiva. Grandrieux's work offers the viewer intense sensorial experiences and a deep psychological involvement, expressing a world of
energies, embedded in and manifesting the most powerful of sensations and effects.
